Review of Residence Delcloy and Any Helpful Tips

by gohuckleberry

Greetings,

We are traveling to Nice in November. I found the Residence Delcloy as an affordable lodging possibility. However, I didn't find any traveler reviews. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this Residence and can give us a review, opinion, or additional lodging information. Also, anything special going on @ the first November? We will be flying into Nice and staying just a couple of days before heading to Spain. Thank you!!

You are very fortunate - Ive been past the residences - the location is very favoured, just a stones throw from Beaulieu, Villefranche and St Jean - the golden triangle indeed.

I have some detailed pages on Cap Ferrat with what to see and do, if you have not already checked it out, save me repeating myself

My only concern is November. It is the start of the raniest month of the year on the Riviera. You will hopefully be lucky, but best be prepared for a few days of not great weather

Thank you for your quick response. I agree with your Virtual Tourist Name "NiceLife." It looks absolutely beautiful. We can hardly wait to visit. Your comments about the Residence Delcloy and location were reassuring. Thank you again.

After having a couple of years of drought in our area here in the States, rain sounds very nice (at least a little rain)...besides finding some travel bargains for November we just couldn't resist.

We will check out each of your recommendations and look forward to our visit.

With kind regards,

J. J.

Travel Tips for Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Birds of a feather

by NiceLife

As in many things in life, sometimes its the small details that make a place special.
I have no idea what this little fellow is, but he's cute and he has an A-list address - Cap Ferrat. Red beak, yellow waistcoat and vivid green coat. Drawn to the eaves of many of the exclusive villas these green little cuties are in abundance here, and you don't see them elsewhere in the busy towns of the Riviera. In and out of the trees, busy doing bird-type things, they twitter a lot, and add a happy presence to the beauty of St Jean

He or she is a bird that appreciates the finer things in life. I'll drink to that. (Rose of course)

Plage de Passable

by Elainehead

This small beach is located behind the local zoo. Sitting on the beach, you have a beautiful view of Villefranche-sur-mer. This is no sandy beach, so watch out your feet with those little stones (or hidden pieces of bottle glass).

Beach by the port

by Elainehead

Gravel public beach with shower and free WC (at your own risk!). There is a snack bar. No lifeguards here. Dogs are not allowed but you will see many around. The sea was really dirty the last time we have been to.

Walking path to Beaulieu-sur-mer

by Elainehead

Right above the beach near the port, there is a path that leads you to Beaulieu-sur-mer. It's a nice way to enjoy the nice scenery and beautiful houses along this path. Watch out when you walk, it's also a dog's path...

No Barbecues or Dogs on the beach!

by Elainehead

Before you arrive at the beach, you will this huge warning sign. Okay, you won't see any bonfire or barbecues but you will certainly see dogs on the beach...not only "sunbathing" with their owners but sometimes you will catch them "swimming" too!

Oh, watch out where you walk... yeah, dog crap!
