More about Saint-Raphaël
We are going to St Raphael as part of our cruise and don;t know whether to go to St Tropez or Cannes for the day. Can anyone suggest the best place to visit, and what to do in each place.
I assume this is some time soon?
The season is winding down - the main if not only reason to go to St Tropez is people watching, and the number and type of people worth watching is beginning to tail off too. The filmstars and footballers have all gone home. Pretty soon the only people there will be people watchers, which is not anywhere so interesting.
Cannes has much more to see in addition to people, though it has that too. Explore the old town Le Souquet, go window shopping in the rue d'Antibes, parade the Croisette, become the twenty millionth person to be photographed posing in front of someone else's lamborghini parked outside the Martinez, and the hundred millionth person to have your picture taken on the red-carpetted steps of the Palais des Festivals. Everybody does it, its irresistable, so why not?
Thanks for that, we are coming towards the end of October, so we know it will be quieter. Think Cannes sounds more interesting and more to do. So think that is what we do. Cheers
