Villa Amiel: Simply the bst bed and breakfast in Sospel

Just on the edge of the village opposite the park de platane you'll see a large white house. being frank from the outside it does look a bit tatty - the owners tell us that they are waiting for the Batiment de France to tell them what design it has to be before they get the permit to do the outside painting. However inside is another story altogether. In the house are two huge well appointed rooms for up to 5 people, en suite (also huge), views from and rear. There is also an annex that has smaller (and cheaper) rooms again with ensuite, small terrace thats a sun trap. Beds are very comfortable and the breakfast one of the best with everything fresh from the bakers each day. Oh and the coffee is excellent too.
The host - Patrick is a fountain of local knowledge and ever so helpful.
Local transport is good with buses to Menton and trains to Nice.
Prices are from €58 (2007)
We enjoyed our stay both times and look forward to going back again.

Unique Quality: Above average standard for the village. Huge rooms in the main house. Easy access to the village. Great local knowledge. Nice breakfast - good coffee. Very clean and tidy. Aircon for the summer and a log fire in winter. Parking too.
