"A cozy and bustling Mediterranean town"
Although Toulon is not as well-known as other French port towns, it still has a bit of charm and many fun things to do once you venture into the busy port. Having only visited there for a few days, coupled with the fact that it was over 15 years ago, I can't make any recommendations for specific things to do or hotels to stay. I can say, however, that I had a great deal of fun there, riding bikes, relaxing on the waterfront cafés, and staying up all night at local discotheques.
