I think it's good accomodation. Good cuisine, along the route to Cote d'Azur but really near the centre of the small town of Vence. pool, cuisine, price, ecc.

One of my fondest memories of Vence is the giant Bird Sculpture at a traffic circle just away from downtown. Does anybody know the exact street location of this bird sculpture? Thanks!
I know of a traffic circle just out of Vence downtown, the Place du Marechal Juin, but I know of no Big Bird sculpture. Could it have been temporary?
Are you perhaps thinking of the sculpture at the traffic circle at the Chemin de la Colle and the Chemin des Gardettes in St. Paul de Vence just down from the Maeght Foundation. We always park there and walk up to the old village.
You can try Google maps street view and see if that's it. I can't think of a giant sculpture in Vence but that doesn't mean much because it's a much larger town and we certainly haven't seen it all.
Good luck.
There is a pizzeria La Terrasse sur Saint-Paul at the traffic circle at Route de la Colle and Montee des Trious just before Saint Paul that has a large iron black modern sculpture which could be representative of a big bird is in the center.
I suspect this is what you are looking for

Its very striking, though is it "art"? I don't really know. More of a curiosity
I wonder what real birds make of it? Perhaps its a bird-scarer.
Andrew, Mais bien sur. Thank you for displaying the Big Bird. Peut-etre, it is a decoy to draw the pigeons from the town center. ;-)
Andrew, the Big Bird was not at this location when I drove to Vence. When did you take the photo? It was, as I suggested to begin with at the Place du Marechal Juin.
Photo taken 3rd September 2009 if that explains anything.
Quite possibly they move it around, so more people can "enjoy" it?
Vence is another "village perché" which is an easy day tip from Nice. Like Biot, the best "thing to do" is to wander, explore, and get lost in the narrow streets and squares. The sign below describes why many of the houses are built into the town walls. I have a couple of pages of pictures in the "things to do" section which will give you an idea of what it looks like. Apart from the town itself, the views over the hills are stunning.
Outside the town, about a 15 minute walk is the Matisse Chapel. This is a major tourist attraction and I'm sure if you are a particular follower of Matisse, you will want to see it. I, personally thought it had all the warmth of a public toilet, complete with "grafitti" drawings by Matisse. Sorry, not impressed. A friend of mine thought it was the highlight of his visit to the area, so judge for yourself.
Oh, almost forgot about the cherries. There was a market stall selling new season cherries for €54.95 per kilo. We asked the lady to weigh one cherry and it cost €1.65! Advice: Wait for the season to be in full swing before you buy cherries in Vence.
