Wonderful Place to Rest
We had a wonderful stay at the unique Hotel Darse.
We were only there for 1 night, but were situated on a 3rd floor, sea-view room overlooking the small fishing boats in the Mediterraean Sea. It was a VERY large room for French standards with a nice bathroom w/ shower and toilet.
One nice thing was it had a lot of outlets, so we were able to charge everything from my hairdryer to our Ipods. It also had a TV in the corner that received 1 English channel that was playing "The Office" - so funny!
We also had a lovely terrace outside our room to hang out, although it was rather noisy after midnight with those on the terrace below. Clean white tile floor with nice bed, lots of storage, and a bathroom that did not get all wet!
Small breakfast in the morning for 6Euro and the staff was very accomodating - not much English spoken, but they let us store our luggage after we checked out for the entire day we spent in Monaco.
Unique Quality: Great Views of the Med. Sea, only a 5 minutes walk from great restaurants.

Villefranche on a budget
Perfectly located at Port Darse, a modest two star that offers you the charm of Villefranche on a tight budget. Sea view, for one or two persons 62 euro - around half the price of the Welcome. A ten minute walk brings you around the foot of the fortifications to Port Plaisance and the beaches of the bay.and restaurants of the town. A ten minute walk up through the town brings you to the main Nice - Monaco road and bus services to all points along the eastern riviera.
