Well located on the edge of the old town, also with easy access to transport links for Nice and Monaco, this small hotel is run by a British couple more on the lines of a "Guest-house" than a large impersonal hotel
Has had good feedback, so though I haven't had need to stay there personally, I ve walked by dozens of times and I think its a nice looking choice of somewhere to stay.
The view of the sea from the balcony was the best thing, but also it was a very practical room too; plenty of places to hang clothes etc. Bathroom - plenty of places for towels and soap etc., with complementary shower gell and stuff. Good comfortable room
Comfortable hotel - easy walking distance of beach and restaurants - good parking
In an idyllic, quiet location, facing south, near the beach, this hotel is appreciated for its proximity between Nice and Monaco. Overlooking the resplendent Villefranche Harbour, the hotel's setting on the lower coast road makes it a favoured stopover between Nice (5 km) and Monaco (15 km).
We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Villa Vauban. The property is immaculately maintained, and the location is convenient, just between the main commercial district at the top of the hill and the picturesque old port. We were the guests from hell, arriving late at night, incapable of working the room safe, issues with the car rental, but the innkeeper Allen Power was the perfect host and assisted us with everything. His restaurant recommendations and ideas for sightseeing were discerning. We loved our room (#2) with its little balcony overlooking the citadel and the bay. Beds were very comfortable, and the A/C took the edge off the sultry nights. The bathroom is cramped, but it was a pleasure taking a shower with an open window overlooking the sea. Bear in mind, this is not a full service hotel. Though technically a B&B, it is cheaper to wander down the hill and have petit dejeuner at one of the cafes on the port.
