Transport Geneva-Avoriaz
by TheView
Hallo can anybody give me some advice on transport between Geneva airport (Switzerland) and Avoriaz (France). Is there a regular bus running? If you know what a Taxi ride between the city’s cost it will be helpful as well.
Thanks Allan

I did it several years ago and took the train to Chamonix as I remember (was near Avoriaz); a taxi would be big money. Enjoy!

Travel Tips for Avoriaz
AVORIAZ
by RACCOON1
Avoriaz is located at an elevation of 1800 m meters , and there are over 40 lifts associated with the Avoriaz area.
Although being a low resort it is a super place for powder skiing . The terrain is easy- intermediate which means most of the skiers do not venture into fresh powder snow . Thus the powder skiing can last all day and into the next. Avoriaz is one of the best ski-in/ ski-out villages . We only had to take three steps outside the hotel door to put on skiis and push off. down the mountain.
A yellow mask
by Djinn76
Most of my pictures have been taken both saturday when the weather was nice! In between, it has snowed almost all the time...
If you want to ski in these conditions, you'd better buy a mask before. The glass ranges from different colour: from blue to yellow. The closer to yellow, the more you will see the contrasts...Also chose a mask with double glass to avoid the condensation...
Electronic ski pass
by Djinn76
A great feature: All the Portes du Soleil ski runs are equipped with a "hands free" access control system. The electronic checkpoints reads the pass remotely, even if it is in your pocket, and automatically activates the opening of the turnstiles.
This involves purchasing a rechargeable card but this is definitely worth the few extra euros...
