Chante Merle: Sweet, cheap B & B place in Beaujeu France.

We arrived in this little town and were having some problems finding a B & B. One of the places we tried suggested we tried Chante Merle and I am glad we did! It is set in the heart of the wine growing region and our room had lovely views across the countryside. We stayed in the downstairs room, so i have no idea what the others are like. Our room was also suitable for disabled travellers. The room was sweet and pleasantly decorated. The en suite was new, large and more like a wet room really. Off a corridor was the breakfast/dining room which also provided a comfortable place to sit if you wished and had large French door opening on to the garden and the views. There were chairs outside if you wished to sit out. The owner, marie Laprun, was a very pleasant lady who offered us coffee/tea on out arrival (the only place we stayed that did this) and cherries straight off the tree. Breakfast was plentiful. This is really a nice, comfortable place to had a really cosy and warm feel about it AND it was so cheap! We paid 40 Euros for the room for the night! It was far more welcoming than many of the more expensive places we stayed.
If you are looking for a pleasant, comfortable, place to stay then I would recommend this place.

Lovely atmosphere, pleasant owner, great rural location, lovely views, fresh flowers and cheap!!
