Accommodation in Chamonix-Sud

5 of us stayed at the Residence Ciel et Logis in Chamonix Sud. The accommodations are apartments, so our room had a kitchen, fridge, microwave, and came with some cutlery and dishes. Bed linens and towels are EUR 20 per person, so I recommended bringing your own towels and bed linens. It was a clean and spacious apartment. The bathroom and toilet are separate. Our bathroom, however, did NOT have a shower curtain, so keep that in mind! We had a balcony, where if you rent skis/snowboards, you can leave them there. Before check-out, the staff request that you clean up after yourselves, i.e. take out the garbage, fold the sheets, mop the floor, clean the dishes, etc., otherwise the staff will charge you what they feel it cost them to tidy up the room. I'm not sure which way the windows were facing, but you're surrounded by the Alps, so the view is quite nice. Our room was about a 5 min. walk to the Chamonix Sud bus stop, from which you get the bus to some, if not all, ski runs; about a 10 min. walk to the center of town. Our complex of apartments was also closed to traffic, so it was very quiet. It cost us (in GBP) 476.00 for 5 people for 4 nights, i.e. approx. GBP 95 per person for 4 nights.

Unique Quality: Clean, spacious room with kitchen, fridge. Amenities nearby, i.e. Spar supermarket, but expensive! Go to the "Super U" supermarket on Rue Paccard and save some $. Ski/snowboard rental also nearby. We received a 20% discount on ski/snowboard rental from the residence for a rental shop. Very useful. Maybe a bit pricey, but split 5 ways, it's affordable. Recommended overall.
