Ski Runs For All Levels
Alp Du Huez is the ideal Ski Resort, especially if you are travelling in a party of mixed ability skiers. All of the runs to the resort are green runs, which even a beginner will be able to ski after 2-3 days in ski school. There are plenty of challenging blues and reds for intermediates and for the adrenalin junkies, the resort has plenty of scary blacks, including those on the Pic Blanc Glacier. If you have done the whole ski school thing before and want to improve on your techniques, then this is the place to take private lessons, as a 1 hour private lesson for up to 2 people comes in at only 37 euros, and you will learn far more in that hour than you have ever learned at a ski school. Do be aware that this resort gets very busy at the end of February and begining of March as the British, Belgium and French school half terms coincide, but the your lift pass covers you for such a hugh area, that you can always find a less busy run to practice your skills. Plenty of places to hire your equipment, but make sure you bring along plenty of ski socks, gloves, etc etc, as this is not a cheap place to forget anyting. Alp Du Huez is reached by a road that has 21 hairpin bends on it, so you can imagine the prices the shops charge.
