Hotel Mercure Chateau Perrache 4*
I stayed at this hotel for one night in May 2009.
I had found a good deal through their website at 69 euros for a single room including breakfast.
Chateau Perrache is a 4*, it is a Mercure hotel which belongs to the Accor group.
It is a beautiful historical building in the "Art Nouveau" style. The rooms are bit small (mine was a single so really small) however they are cosy and seems to have been recently renovated. The staff was polite and efficient.
I also tested the room service which was quick, good and affordable so go for it !
My only complain would be the location. It's really great if you need to use the Lyon Perrache station since it is next door. However, I would have preferred to stay in the "Vieux Lyon" (old town) which is very charmful, or closer to the other train station (Lyon Part Dieu) which is more convenient to explore the city center. Also the view on the rail station was not so nice...
But overall it was good value for money.
