Weather
by keeweechic
Lyon is warm and sunny between the months of June and October. In June there is plenty of daylight to get things done and it is also fairly light on the summer crowds. September is usually consistently warm and temperatures can reach 25C. In winter with the changeable Mediterranean climate, temperatures can get very cold.
Lyon Tip
by Bec
This was the only restaurant we went to and it was the most interesting! The waiter was extremely entertaining to say the least - 'mother's milk!' he cried, holding a wine bottle up to his mouth (after he came back from the alley way across the road - mmmm....) Then he would draw kangaroos on my friend's serviette and write down the dessert menu in about 4 different languages, and nearly fall through the glass window whilst taking a photo of our group! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS though. Pity I can't remember the name but just look for the lady spreuker out the front wearing a red boa...

*Roman* amphitheaters and MUSEUM
by OrlandoBR
There are two Roman amphitheaters on the Fourvière hill, right next to each other, one bigger and the other smaller. The big one is the oldest in France. That's where Lugdunum - the Roman name for Lyon - was founded, back in 43 B.C.
They were rehearsing a play when I was there. The big theater is still used today. That's where they sold water for €4,00.

"A Business Capital"
The capital of the Rhone-Alps Region, Lyon is at a strategic location...at the crossroads of Northern and Southern Europe, linked by wonderful motorways, an internatinal airport and a great train system. It is also the No. 2 metropolitan area in France including one third of all of it's population under the age of 20! Out of about 2.1 million...interesting statistics...Great news for all you young folks!
Not only is this creative and historic place a metropolis of shops, cultural acitvities and river banks, it is a European business capital.
Lyon generates one of the highest production of goods in all of Europe. Fabric being the highly developed and most noted, it's it's what has helped flourished thousands of jobs in that region alone. Environmental industries, health, mechanical engineering and the service sector are just a few others...
It most definitely has a range of acitivities and flavours for every taste~
The river bank
Needless to say, Lyon has achieved a rare quality of excellence still with all of the advantages of housing, shops and transportation and yet has preserved the quality of life.
