Decent Hotel, Dodgy Location
The hotel itself is fine - clean, with reasonable service and a small bar - pretty much what you would expect from a 2-star.
I think we were unlucky with our room, because it was right at the top of the hotel in what seemed to be an attic and we bumped our heads on the sloping ceiling more than once. The bedroom window was so high and narrow that all we could see out of it was the sky and the only view of the city was out of the bathroom window, standing in the bath.
The worst thing though, was the hotel's location. Situated behind Perrache Railway Station, in a fairly rundown area, the only way to get from the hotel into the city was by walking through the station. This didn't bother us during the daytime, but returning to the hotel at night through the deserted station was a bit unnerving to say the least and I wouldn't stay there again purely for this reason.
