How much does it cost to take a cruise on the Rhone River Cruise?
Interesting question. I did a quick google search. One of the results showed a dinner cruise out of Avignon for $86. http://www.tripwiser.com/trip_thing_to_do-Dinner_Cruise_Rhone_River_Mireio_Avignon_France?itiNodeId=8a8c80fe1524d8b3011524df5b40000e&eType=activity and you may want to check out http://www.rhonerivercruise.com/rhone_river_cruises.cfm

Lyon has many good railway connections. There are two stations, Lyon Part-dieu (the most used) and Lyon Perrache. Both railway stations can be reached by underground. Cities that can be reached from Lyon: Paris (by TGV arriving at Paris-gare de Lyon), Geneva, Grenoble, southern France and the French Riviera, Italy e.g Milan and Turin. Some people say Part-dieu is the largest station in Europe. Many nice shops and cafes in the station building.
Visit the Cathedral St Jean (don't miss the amazing clock on the left hand sinde of teh Nave, it rings every hour), and the area around it which is well know for the classic architecure. This is the oldest part of Lyon and there are some amazing buildings around (keep looking up !) You can get details of a walking tour around this area from the tourist office (there's one next to the Vieux Lyon metro station and another on the Place Bellecour)
The two Roman theatres that stood on the Fourvière hillside, one large and one small, were built on the site where Lundunum was founded in 43 BC. The large theatre is the oldest in France. The vestigial remains of a district which housed artisans can also be seen.
In 2002, Lyon was the last stop of our tour in France (Paris - Loire Valley - Avignon - Orange - Juan les Pins- Cannes - Nice - Monaco/Monte Carlo - Lyon).
Settled on two hills and between two rivers – the Rhone and the Sâone - Lyon impressed us with its beauty, but in the same time we were deeply surprised to meet a too quiet town. Too few tourists, too few people in general on the streets, no cruise on the rivers... Even the restaurant of the hotel we stayed in was closed! The receptionist's explanation was that in July everybody is on holiday! A little strange...
