We will be in Lyon September 10-15. What will the weather be like during that time? Is there something in particular that we need to make sure to pack?

Sorry but weather is unpredictable 2 month in advance! September is often fine with warm sun but you might as well have rain pouring for a week long. My bet : sunny and warm but it is only a wild guess. You will not have snow falls in Lyon in September, that is all what I can promise you. No fog neither.

its hard to tell a tourist what to do when they visit a town you've been living in for years....my favorite place is the 'gallo-romain' a parc at 'fourviere' next to my school where you get a view of the whole city=) hanging out with my frecnie friends
La Soucoupe (the flying saucer) is a small bar which has live music nearly every night. It's a bit more expensive than other bars but the atmosphere is good. Concerts usually start at around 10pm and go on and on and on..
In 1870, the people of Lyon & their archbishop sought once again the virgin's intercession so that the Perussian armies could not enter the city. The prayer was 'answered', & as a sign of gratitude, the decision was taken to build up the basilica.

- Fourviere museum: Open frm Apr-Dec, everyday frm 10am-12pm & 2pm-6pm.
- Free visits : From Apr-Oct, join a group for free visit to >> Decouvertes, Passions, Insolites sur les toits Fourviere(up to the roofs)
- Puppet show: Free for 6-11 year old children is given in May & June; frm Sept-Dec.
Although the Basilique de Fourviere dominates the skyline, the Cathedrale de St. Jean below on the banks of the Saone river has its own merits. Highlights include an astronomical clock from the 16th century, and several nice stained glass windows.
Bottom-line: Not all that spectacular, but worth a quick visit.
Sculpture, Objets d'Art, including furniture by Hector Guimard and Classical Art from Egyptian times onward are in different sections of the very large museum. The paintings since 1800 are of very high quality and cover most of the better artists with strong works.
