Meribel - Ski Haven
"Winter Season"
Meribel is one of those French resorts which the Brits seem to over run every year between mid-December and mid-April. Fabulous location, right in the heart of the Trois Vallee's this ski resort is a must for those who like to ski hard and long during their winters. Having spent a couple of holidays there and also done a winter season, I have probably skiied most, if not all the runs, but stilll am not bored of the hills.
It also has a good wee night life, not quite Val D but if you are looking for a good holiday destination, then Meribel has a good mix.
"Favourite skiing"
My fave hill area has to be Mont Vallon, at the top of Meribel Valley. This hill is quite often shut due to adverse weather / snow conditions but so worth the ride if there has just been fresh snow!
"Nightlife"
Meribel has a couple of good bars - but they are usually full of v. drunk young Brits and lots of live music - although they all play in a circuit so if you're there for more than a week, you'll see the same act! There are even a couple of night clubs (or should that be nite clubs?)
