Modernest Hotel
The Kyriad is the most modern hotel in central Montelimar but it doesn't have a great deal of competition. It's comfortable enough but could do with being brought up to date. It has a total non smoking policy. It has free and ample car parking. Its well located, set slightly away from the main street. Breakfast was a typical continental affair with just about enough variation. The hotel doesn't offer an evening meal but all the restaurants are well within walking distance and with a popular bar (Panthere Noire) across the road. Because I was staying a long time I negotiated a slightly cheaper rate than advertised of 80 Euros including breakfast. (one person) The rooms are functional with free and unlimited wifi and coffee making facilities but no fridge. The bathroom is very small and a shower hook would be very useful (none of the rooms have these strangely enough). Some of the staff speak English and were friendly enough and the hotel is kept clean. Not recommended for long stays (but no other choice) but good for a couple of nights as its on the main route down to Marseille.
