Les Portes du Soleil have 650 km ski trials and 204 ski lifts between Leman Lake and Mont Blanc as well in France as across the border from Switzerland, from french Savoie to Swiss Valais. While making a break, the absolutely necessary equipment is a hut, a deckchair, some warm sun and a hot wine with cinnamon and clove. Makes you feel a little warmer :-))
Well, Steve had a wonderful time, skiiing all around on black and red runs between France and Switzerland. I discovered I hated skiiing, so had to find other amusements. And the shopping in Morzine is limited, unless you have an endless fascination for bits of dried pig. So here are some hints and tips for those of you who discover you are ski widow/ers in Morzine-Avoriaz.
