From 1942, a small secret army of resistants got together in Manigod to resist against the invasion. At the beginning of 1944, the Allied decided to transfer them on the Plateau des Glieres sending them arms.
The Nazis sent 12.000 soldiers to destroyed the "maquis". Almost all the resistants were captured or kiled.
