Bad Tölz
"Christkindl Markt"
The Christkindl Markt in Bad Tölz is so cute. The entire town comes out at night for gluhwein and chit-chat, even in the freezing cold. Its a kind of togetherness you just can't find in the states.
"The Church"
There is a very old but beautiful church on top of the hill by the Markt Strasse which the town repainted recently to make the pillars look like marble from afar.. They did a wonderful job! You couldn't tell it was paint till you got close up. On the way up the hill there are 12 (I believe..) little stations where you learn about Christ. These have old paintings inside and unfortunately were locked up when we visited during Christmas time (probably to deter vandals).
You see this church then crossing the Isar River into town. There are also statues by the church with Christ on the cross.
