one of the inner courts of the Burg
I'm looking for a nice hotel in Burghausen for our 20th wedding annivesary. We would like something with a great view of the castle and (if possible) a close walk to the old city.
If anyone has a suggestion, we will appreciate it.

I saw one hotel at the other side of the river, (in Austria, exactely opposite of the town of Burghausen/Bavaria) - I will have to check that name - the view would be perfect of the whole city + castle, I will take a look on my pics, how far the next bridge is.
You are one of those people asking a question on their 1st day at VT, and might never return, so you simply tell me, when you come back, and I will look up for these infos !
The river Salzach, the same river that flows through Salzburg, marks the border with Austria.
Nowadays, with the euro and without passport controls (thanks to the Schengen agreement) it is difficult to realize that the other side of the river is "abroad".
Even before the new currency was adopted, it was possible to use German Marks on the Austrian bank of the Salzach.
