The hotel is about 7min walking from main train station; opposite there is a supermarket opened till 20:00. Lots of bus connections near-by. The staff was friendly, good breakfast, plus that I could leave the luggage after check-out time at the reception (because my train was leaving some hours after ...). Please be aware that the reception is in the bar ! :) . Also good free Wi-Fi was a good thing (ask for the password at reception!), plus large room with big bed and very clean bathroom.
There was also a downfall - can be noisy in the night, if people outside on the terrace are still partying late. In my case were a group of young people that at 5:00am found it appropriate to shout so loud some things (in German) that probably disturbed all the people in the surroundings.
Other than this I find no dislikes for a hotel of this category.
Very close to rail station and to center of the city.
This Novotel is not really located in the center itself but rather close to one of the main roads in some kind of business area. Reaching the old city center by foot is however not a big deal.
My room was in fact some kind of studio with a small kitchen integrated. Staying just for the night, I had not much use of it but why not...
This is a fairly cheap hotel in Erlangen run by a husband-and-wife team. Fairly comfortable with a personal touch. Very simple rooms and breakfast. Good for budget travellers.
Not centrally-located but it is only 10 mins walk from the train station. It is nearby the Erlangen medical schools and about 10 mins walk from Siemens area too.
Personal touch by Mr & Mrs Peck - the owner of this little hotel.
