Slightly off centre

It cost me 156.60 euros for 4 nights.
Breakfast starts at 7.30 and I did like the ambience of the dining room.
Dinner is also available though the hours when I was there were limited to between 1830 and 1930 sit down time.
My one whinge about this place was the tea room. While I loved the decor and would like to have spent more time in it, the room reeked of tobacco smoke and, on the few occasions I went there, someone always seemed to be about to light up. Having said that, the new laws about to come in in Germany may preclude smoking in such places, just like in many other parts of the world. I certainly hope so. Also, you couldn't get a cup of tea after about 2130 which was a problem for me because, being a writer, I'm apt to be working away with my pen at all sorts of odd hours and would have loved to get a cuppa.

Unique Quality: Hotel Filser is slightly out from the main centre of Fuessen, about three blocks. For mine, this gives it the advantage of being quieter.
It is actually one block back off the Augsberger Road and the balconies have views to the Alps but you won't be taking any fantastic shots from them. It's more glimpses than expansive views.
One of the big pluses for me was the free internet, I certainly gave that a caning!
The rooms are spacious, there is a lift (a big plus in Germany), good shower/toilet and the usual central heating so you didn't get cold.
The staff were exceptional and skilled, I rated them highly.
There's no minibar and the pillows were woeful but those last two were common for me all through Germany so don't go anywhere expecting better because you probably won't get it.
Summing up, not only would I stay there again, I'm actually planning to do just that.
