The cakes stop and try some!!

Love this hotel. We've stayed here twice for winter ski holidays in the area and will be there again in 2008
The rooms are spotless, staff are lovely, food is great. However it is not a back packing type of hotel. the rates are high. But you pay for what you get.

Unique Quality: This hotel is famous for it's cake and WHAT CAKE!! Wow. It takes me a year to work off what I put on in a week.
Also Breakfast is fantastic. 15 euros per person for outsiders, thats £10.00 or $20 US so for two of you, deduct that from the room price and it's not a bad deal.
The hotel is right in the middle of the town with its own little car park.

Arriving

One good thing about smaller places is that the trains inevitably drop you somewhere near the centre of the city. Fuessen is also at the end of the line so, what's coming in will soon be going out.
Once you alight and leave the platform it's only 100 metres to the main intersection in town and King Luitpold will be there to greet you in the middle of the roundabout.
He's writ fairly large around these parts having had the image of a benefactor of the masses.
There's also a splendid mansion (pic 2) located on the Augsberg Strasse that I used to pass every day named after him.
The other standout at this intersection is the Hotel Kurcafe. Somehow the yellow keeps attracting your eye and its all capped with a gothic roof and dormer windows.

hi,
I been there in sep 2009.
there were a lot of interested place surround there.
I think
1. Its no need to book in advance cause it take around 45 minite in the castle . You just buy ticket and spend some time look aroud nice lake until it time to enter. and If you miss the timetable you book you might have to buy a new ticket. ( UNDERSTAND ticket is fix time schedule )
2.There were 2 castle Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein for your chice for select which one to visit first.
Both are Nice to visit

Hotel Kurcafe is not far from Füssen station. From there are frequent buses to Hohenschwangau, the bus stop close to the ticket center. Travel time is 8 minutes. Single trip is EUR 2,10.

If you can be at the ticket center in the early morning (opens at 8am) you don't need to book in advance. Booking in advance is more important for people arriving only at noon at Hohenschwangau (e.g. from Munich) and that it can happen that the next few tours through the castle are all already full and you only get a late tour.

Neuschwanstein Castles has many tourist just going there. Füssen itself is far less crowded.

Day ticket for this network is EUR 7,00.

Hi I was there in June on a Friday. Arrived at mid-day, no problem booking both castles and only had to wait about 90 minutes.
