Hello everybody! Where do I search accommodation in Garmisch to be close to the ski lifts? Any advice on pension/apartments? Have a nice day!

You can search for all types of accommodation at one site,

You can search for hotels, pensions, or vacation apartments.
Which ski lift do you want to be close to? You can be close to the Garmisch Classic area (lifts Kreuzeck and Alpsitze) or to the Zugspitze area. You can catch the Zugspitze train at the main train station, at Hausberg, at Kreuzeck, or in Grainau.
In addition, there is a town bus that runs all through town and ends at the Kreuzeck/Alpspitz lifts, and the Eibsee bus links many areas of Garmisch with Grainau.
So really, just find a great pension that you like, and you won't have any trouble getting to the lifts. During winter, it's very common to see couples and families board the town busses in ski boots, carrying skis.

Garmisch is such a super place, and once you make contact with the right people ....it's incredibly easy to organise a wedding there by email only !!! Anyone wanting any help or advice please feel free to contact me . My wedding day !! Blue skies, fluffy white snow, horse & sleigh and of course the Mulled Wine !
These do not really count as tips, but then again, what is better than a good photo to tell a story? One of the things that always pains me is when I see fields paved over to make way for new developments. Germany does not have enough green space in any case, and especially in GAP and the mountains, they need more not less. There are numerous grocery stores in GAP, and many vacant buildings in the main center. It broke my heart to see another grocery store being built outside GAP on the way to Grainau, where there used to be fields and a horse farm. It was along the river and across from the campsite. This type of indiscriminate development is further ruining the character of GAP, and is completely unnecessary. People will not eat more food just because there are more grocery stores. One steals market share from the other, and the net loss is to the quality of life in and around GAP.
If you are looking for a challenge, or just a little exercise, climb to the top of the Kramerspitze. It took us about 5 hrs to get to the top. There's a restaurant a little more than halfway up that serves excellent German 'pancakes'. Gorgeous views from the top-definitely must be in shape to do this!!
Eiscafe Bellini is a terrific authentic Italian ice cream/coffee shop in Partenkirchen near the Bahnhof. Their ice cream is made in-house and is the best gelato in town. They specialize in elaborate ice cream dishes, but they also sell single scoops. If ice cream doesn't appetize you, they also serve panini, tiramisu, and various pastries. They serve espresso drinks, juices, beer, liquors, and milkshakes. The patio seating is available in warm weather. Great place to while away time with friends or alone.
As you walk through Garmisch looking at all the cute stores and beautifully painted buildings, don't forget to look up. The town is surrounded by magnificent mountains. When you get lost in thought and suddenly look up, it's a bit of a shock to see these huge mountains looming over the town.
