Hotel Mueller- 100% Satisfied
Stayed at the Mueller May 17-20th. This hotel is located smack down in between two magnificent castles. The staff were extraordinarily attentive and helpful. We booked the castle package which includes tours of the two castles. Fruit basket everyday and a plentiful breakfast each morning. We had a small balcony with a view of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is also located in a great location for hiking and biking as well as convenient to sights like the Zugspitz. Highly recommended.
Overall we will definitely return to this majestic land and this perfect hotel. You will not be disappointed.
Hotel Mueller: Fit for a King
We give our highest marks to this **** hotel for service. Helga handled our reservations with aplomb, including booking castle tours and front-and-center tickets to the new musical, "Ludwig 2" -- not to be missed. If you can splurge for a suite, try #30. It's actually two rooms combined and the only room in the hotel with two bathrooms. The balcony looks right out to Neuschenstein. This is an ideal hotel for castle tours; you can walk, bike, bus, or -- ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Try to tour early in the day and early in the week to avoid the crowds.
Good budget hotel near Cologne train station
We had a comfortable stay here for a reasonable price (I'm told prices go way up when a convention is in town, but then it's probably a good idea to avoid Cologne alltogether during these times). It's convenient to the train station, but still manages to be on a quiet residential street. Rooms are comforable, with private facilities. Excellent breakfast in the basement restaurant. - Easy walking distance of the train station
- Quiet, friendly, family-run
- Internet access
- No elevator
Eifel region of Germany
Immaculately clean with bath in every room. Get a room with balcony overlooking the river Kyll.
Plenty of hiking paths from mild to strenuous. A great strenuous walk I suggest is to walk over the mountain from Kyllburg into the neighboring town of St. Thomas. It came a downpour when I arrived, so I hopped the train back to Kyllburg. The owners will treat you like family and you are on the honor system with a refrigerator full of beer, wine and sparkling water in the "living room" next to the dining room.
Train station is within sight of the hotel.
We stayed at the Hotel Muller on our honeymoon. The level of service we have not experienced anywhere. The location is amazing, the food exquisite and the service second to none. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would love to return.
The whole area of Hohenschwangau and the Hotel Mueller is sheer magic. To finda luxurious hotel right between the two famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau and within easy walking distance to both is perfect. Helga Mueller and her staff, personally ensures that you are well cared for and welcomes you with an old world charm. The bedrooms are perfect with matresses that give you a great night's sleep to prepare you for the next day's adventures. The food and service at Hotel Mueller would equal any hotel or restaurant anywhere. When we arrived, the surrounding mountains were shrouded in mist, but Mrs. Mueller promised that she would make sure that the mist will lift and we will have clear skies the next day. She kept her promise (see photo). How's that for service? Magic.
We stayed at the Hotel Mueller for a couple of nights in late March. Without a doubt, this was the highlight of our two week vacation in Europe. The hotel is charming beyond words. The setting (it had snowed the week before we got there) was truly stunning and serene. It was like a fairy tale come to life. The hotel staff was out of this world. Guests are treated like royalty at the Hotel Mueller. Helga Mueller (the owner of the hotel) is a wonderful person who sincerely cares about how her guests are treated and it shows. We had exchanged a number of e-mails before our arrival and she greeted us at the door with open arms. She walked us up to our rooms to make certain everything was to our satisfaction, which of course, it was. We had reserved the family suite (under 200 euros during off-season) which had two medium-sized bedrooms and a large family living area. It suited our needs perfectly. One of the bedrooms had twin beds for the kids and the other bedroom had a nice king-size bed. From our window we had a beautiful view of the Schloss Neuschwanstein. We enjoyed several meals at the hotel restaurant and particularly enjoyed the story telling talents of Ralph Hoffman, the head waiter. His wealth of local knowledge combined with his great sense of Bavarian history and tales of King Ludwig made for a very pleasurable dining experience. Castle tours of Neuschwantstein and Hohenschwangau were arranged by the front desk. We let them know when we wanted to tour and they coordinated and secured the tickets for us. First class service all the way. Our stay at the Hotel Mueller was just an extraordinary experience that we shall cherish forever. Our only regret was that we only got to stay for a couple of nights. However, we will be visiting Germany again some day and when we do, we will be staying at the Hotel Mueller.
Wonderful, favorite Hotel during 2 1/2-week trip!!
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Hotel Muller with our 2 children. We had a room which should be called an apartment. We had 2 large bedrooms, living room, closet & 1 full bathroom & 1 half bath with sink & toilet. Very spacious & comfortable.
What makes this hotel so special is the location & the wonderful staff. The front desk took every possible effort to treat us like Kings! They obtained our castle tickets for us, answered questions, gave dinner advice, etc. We had dinner and lunch at the hotel & it was excellent.
The hotel is located between the 2 castles making it a perfect place to stay to visit both castles & Linderhoff is only a short drive away.
We would definitely stay at Hotel Muller if we should visit this area again!!
This was my family's favorite hotel out of the 6 hotels we stayed in during our 2 1/2 week visit to Europe!!
Prime Location for Neuschwanstein Visitors
Hotel Muller is a charming hotel situated below Hohenschwangau Castle and offers beautiful views of Neuschwanstein Castle. Our room was warm and inviting and had direct access to a farily private patio. If you are seeking a great location to visit Neuschwanstein, or are looking for a romantic getaway, this is the place to be. The area is bustling during the day due to it's proximity to the castles, but is extremely quiet after 7:00pm.
Because I didn't find the food at the hotel restaurant (the one that closes at 6pm - there are two) very good, I'm ranking the hotel as above average instead of Excellent. When one is visiting Germany, they don't expect to see French fries being offered with Wienerschnitzel!
Great staff and location
In our two week trip to Germany and France, Hotel Muller was one of our favorites. I was very concerned when we arrived around 3pm because the hotel and street was packed with tourists (the horse and carriage ride to Neuschwanstein leaves from the front of the hotel), and there were tour buses everywhere. Once inside the hotel, it was different. Very calm and friendly. Also, once the day tourists left around 5:30, we had the whole area to ourselves and it was magical!
Favorite thing was our room has a view of Neuschwanstein, which I could see illuminated from our bed at night. Hotel restaurant was also much better than I had expected. Staff eager to help and practice English. Too bad we were only there for one night, would love to return.
