Bonio's visit to Kempten
A two day visit to Kempten for us, including a trip to Oberstdorf to see the skijumping, plenty of time for us to explore the town, weather was cold and snowy though - a couple of warm bars and restaurants to recommend as well!
Please take a look at what we did.
Sightseeing in Kempten
This our Basilika, the Sankt-Lorenz.
It is worth to see the inside!
The Residenz was in former times part of a monestry. If you are in Kempten you should definitely not miss the 'Prunkraeume'. These are rooms inside the Residenz, which you can visit. These rooms look really beautiful with a lot of gold and paintings on the wall.
Here you can see the view from the Freitreppe onto the Rathausplatz, the square beside the city hall. As you can see, the chairs are out on the square, which is a sign that summer is on its way...
The Freitreppe (the stairs you can see on the pic) connects the upper part of town with the lower one.
Around the cityhall many houses look really nice!
The Burghalde, whic was a castle in former times and now has an openair stage inside. In summer there are concerts and openair-cinema sometimes.
The Sankt-Mang church.
