HELP! Traveling back Kitzingen this May.
by roadapple
Hello,
I have three questions.I was stationed at Larson Barricks back in the early seventy's and my family and I will travel back to Germany this May. I wonder if anyone can tell me if the Larson post is still open? Also my wife and I loved a Gasthof on the road up to Larson called the Schusten House,is it still there? Can you suggest a Hotel in Kitzingen.
Thank You, David.

Travel Tips for Kitzingen
Kitzingen, in the Main Valley
by Maria250
The city of Kitzingen is close to Wuerzburg and is located along the Main River. It looks like a crowded town with ppl/visitors walking around all over. It's rather difficult to find any parking spot in the town's center.
I did only a drive through, yet did a quick stop by a very lovely & romantic looking coffeehouse/restaurant right at the "Alte Mainbrucke" with an awesome view on the Main River (from this coffee place where they have outdoor's a nice amount of tables too). Unfortunately can't remember the coffee house's name.

Kitzingen is the capital of the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen in Bavaria.
The city which is located at the river Main is next to Würzburg head office of the Franconian wine trading and economic center of the surrounding agricultural countryside.
The city existing since the 13th century counts various interest sights; amongst them the 16th century-city hall and the "Chapel of the Holy Spirit", built by Balthasar Neumann in the 18th centruy.
The city has about 21,200 inhabitants.

Kitzingen is situated on the Main River, about a half-hour's drive from Wurzburg. I don't know much about the city itself, but I did spend some time wandering around. Got some great pictures, and hopefully they'll picque your interest just enough that you'll want to visit there yourself. Enjoy!
