Take a closer look at the big variety of fancy hats that you may see during the big wedding parade of the " Landshuter Hochzeit "
By the hat it was possible to know the profession or rank of a person and sometimes even whether a lady was married or not.
You will also see that each and every person will carry a small ring of flowers - because of the wedding, and even most of the audience buys such a ring as a nice souvenir of the wedding. Prices vary between 2 and 10 Euros. Many of these costumes and hats reminded me a lot of the old fairy-tale books , but all of them are 100% authentic and produced especially for this spectacle & wedding-parade.

Landshuter Hochzeitszug - the wedding parade

Hochzeitszug is the name of the historical wedding parade that will take place every sunday afternoon at 02.00p.m.
2000 participants will walk or ride through Landshut according to an old fresco and as explained in the history-books of Landshut. You may see the bride and the groom, their family and friends, diplomats from other countries, kings and noble people, the servants of the bride, who had to leave Poland togeather with their princess, artists, soldiers etc. - all of them in their traditional historic costumes.
In 1475 the historic parade was going to the wedding-church, and the Hochzeitszug of nowadays will end at the Turnierplatz, where the next performance will start right after the parade :

Hochzeitszug / wedding parade through Landshut will take place each sunday afternoon at 02.00 p.m.
Seats at the terraces along the street are 24,- or 27,- Euros
lots of standing places are available as well and free of charge !

a tiny remain of the medieval townwall

There is a small rest of the medieval townwall to be seen in Innere Muenchner Strasse, on the right when you walk from St.Martin cathedral towards the Zeughaus. On my picture you see it even decorated like all other buildings are decorated with flags during the "Landshuter Hochzeit".
There is a restaurant beneath this wall and you may obviously step up the wall through this restaurant.

Landshut is a delightful town just north-east of Munich. It is on the Isar River, and was once the capital of Lower Bavaria. The city was founded in 1204 and later became the residence of the dukes of Bavaria-Landshut in 1255. Overlooking the city is a picturesque 13th-century castle, Burg Trausnitz, with a lovely view of the city. This picture was taken from the castle.

St. Martin church has the tallest brick tower in the world.
