Schloss Schonbrunn Hotel & Gastronomie
Landshut's Antique Country House Hotel
Rooms were quite quaint and characteristic, clean and comfortable. Since renovations required respecting original surfaces, some bathrooms are small and have the sink in the bedroom, but all are very modern.
This is a "Hotel Gastonomie," so the food is very good. There is a large breakfast buffet.
Owners and personnel are most courteous.
I would certainly not have a problem recommending this hotel. Just keep in mind it is a 4-star accomodation. Prices are comparable to other similarly ranked hotels in Landshut, but there are some special offers, especially for weekends.
Unique Quality: The hotel was originally (late 1600's) a countryside residence of Prince Max Emanuel. After changing hands many times, it was bought in the early 1900's by the Obermeier family and is still run by the heirs even now. Rooms have been completely renovated, leaving original floor plans in tact. There is a "castle" section (slightly more expensive) and a "hotel" section. It is in a quiet area, not far removed from Landshut and easy to get to by public transport. Plenty of parking, and animals are allowed.
There are a few pictures at the web site.
Directions: General area: North-East of Landshut.
Take the A92 Munich-Daggendorf motorway. Exit at Landshut North. Continue on the B299 highway until Neidermayer Strasse. Turn left towards Auloh. The hotel will be on the right side of the street.
