Miscellaneous Tips, Lindau, Germany - Reviews and Hotel Information

In early May, I had the pleasure of a very short stay at Hotel Schreier am See in Lindau. My only regrets are 1) that it rained and 2) that we could not have stayed longer at this great hotel. We were first greeted by Herr Schreier and then checked in by the very friendly Frau Schreier, who took us to our room. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome, as did the whole staff there. The hotel is fairly small, but very new and modern. Our room, a "Cappucino," was bright and had good amenities, including a cold, well-stocked, minibar and a towel warmer in the bathroom. The best part, however, was the patio/terrace with its table and chaise lounge, and view out over the lake. Unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy it for long because of the rain. Although we didn't use it, they apparently have a sauna as well. Their attached Eiscafe (Gelato) is also quite nice, with tables out on the Seepromenade. It serves a selection of Italian ice cream, drinks, and small food items. Breakfast is also served in the cafe. I really want to visit this hotel again sometime in the summer when the weather is nice. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a visit to Lindau. http://www.hotel-schreier.de/
