Reasonable Budget Rooms in the Old Town

This family-run, moderately-priced guest house could not be more conveniently located, right in the middle of the Old Town and a very short walk from both the train station and the boat dock. It's also located on a relatively quiet alley away from the main pedestrian street. Be aware this is not a full-service hotel (Also, this is in a centuries-old building, so you're likely to hear lots of creaks and see lots of crooked doorways), though there is a nice restaurant and pub downstairs (this is also where you check in, by the way).

The guest house offers rooms both with and without private facilities. The less expensive rooms with "etagenbad" (bathroom on the floor) do include sinks in the rooms. While there are two toilets on each floor, there is only one shower for all of the rooms without private facilities. We were only staying for one night, so it wasn't a big deal for us.

Current (2007) prices range from EUR 60 for a double room with shared facilities to EUR 90 for a double room with private facilities. A fairly nice buffet breakfast is included in the room price. Credit cards are accepted, but the family prefers cash for obvious reasons.

Unique Quality: - Excellent location in the Old Town
- Attached restaurant and pub
- Buffet breakfast included
