In the UK "Halloween" is very much an imported concept.
It got going here on the basis of the American "Trick or Treat" thing.
We were plagued by door bell ringers and knockers for a few years in the mid-'90s but it has all gone quiet for years since.
At this time of the year it is Bonfire Night on 5 November that is still remembered as the night Guy Fawkes failed to blow up the Houses of Parliament and in most communities a large bonfire id lit around which traditional refreshments are served, and to end it all there is a magnificent firework display.
Halloween parties may serve as an excuse for a party but they are in no way part of a traditional British custom .

Don't expect too much. As said before, Halloween isn't much of an holiday here. Check the links Donna gave you, they include some theatre shows- how good is your German/Bavarian?
A few years ago the department stores had set up large sections with clothes for Halloween, this year it's just a very small part. The children had tried to go trick-or-treating some years ago, but nobody in my neighbourhood does it any more.
You can also check the expats' forum for some parties.

For a good meal in Munich, try Brenner's. It's a lovely place with wonderful food. They specialize in grilled seafood and meat and pasta. The desserts are very, very good, too. The Rathskeller at the City Hall is a bit touristy but serves fairly well done German specialties. My grandchildren loved eating in a basement. :-)

Schafkopf (sheephead) is a traditional Bavarian card game that takes its origins from middle Europe in the mid 1700's whereby the King was given lower ranking than is common, thus showing discontent with the local government. The original name, schaffkopf, had nothing to do with sheep but with the tops of the barrels it was traditionally played on (Schaffen). Cards are still a popular activity in Bavaria and the Schelling Salon at Schelling-str. 54 is a great 19th century pub where cards as well as billiards are popular.
Going home happy
by William1982
As usual, the Bayern Munich fans go away from the Olympiastadion happy. They're the most successful German team and are also moving to a new stadium which will be used in the 2006 World Cup. Guess its still good enough for 1860 though....
