 | Munich Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 414 | | The Wombats was a fine place to stay. Great central location - and 2 minutes walk from the Main Train Station Hauptbahnhof . Some rooms even have real nice balconies (ie. Room 505) - although I couldn't take advantage of it as it was blumin freezing and snowy - but must be nice in the warmer months. The rooms were a good size and all very clean. All rooms have their own shower/toilet. Reception staff were very cool, and and alot of fun. Around 6 PCs, internet access 1 Euro for 20 minutes. Good bar area with music videos and pool tables. 4 Euros for breakfast here - but I never tried it so cannot comment.
They give you a really useful little city map when you check in - oh and a free drink voucher. I was looking for a place for my last night at Munich. I did have time for look for a good place, so I search all around the train station for go to the airport easily. There where plenty of hotels, ones with better look that others but ... the best one with the best price, even better price than an hotel for young people that was near, was the Alpen Hotel. When I saw throught the windows I get in love with it. The building is like an alpen house, and the inside is so elegant and nice decorated. Red walls, antiques, a beautiful salon with fireplace, a cute patio. Double room with breakfast . 79 euros (17 march 2003)
Centric, good price, very good service, nice buffet breakfast at the beautiful salon at winter and at the beautiful patio in summer ... I love this place Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Adolf-Kolping-Straße 14Phone: 0049 (0)89-559 33-0Directions: If you get out from the train station throught the Bayerstrasse door, a parallel to this you will find Adolf-Kolping StrasseWebsite: 0049 (0)89-559 33-100 Other Contact: www.alpenhotel-muenchen.de

Had a wonderful stay at Seibels Park. The accomodations were wonderful and its located outside the city a short distance from the Pasing Station. One night coming in late, we ran into the manager and his friends in the breakfast dining room. We were invited in to share some excellent wine, bread and fruit. Good conversation that lasted some time. A perfect nightcap to a perfect day. Camingplatz Thalkirchen is a really big camping in the south of Munich, along the river Isar. Do NOT expect a cosy campsite, as this is rather a camping-town, an extreme mixture of tents, motorhomes, cars etc.
Some of you might know, That I make many of my travels with my motorhome, a small VW-bus. Mostly I will not go to a campingsite, but stay in the streets of the towns I travel to. Such a type of camping is a horror for me, but I may imagine, that for families and people with a tent, this is a good place to go. This is a very pleasant, unassuming little hotel where I have stayed several times when I was in Munich on business. I have never had to pay the bill myself, but I see from their website that single rooms start at EUR 88, doubles at EUR 110. Up to now I have never had the time to try their free bicycles, but hope to do so on my next visit. The location is really fine, in the Schwabing district near the university and the English Garden.
