Good location away from the crowds
We chose to stay at the Best Western in Munich because it was easy to get to - we were only staying one night en route to other locations. It was your basic hotel - nothing special - but it met our needs for the night.
Upon check in we were greeted with a very friendly desk clerk who took care of getting us settled in our rooms and answering our many questions.
It was a hot August evening and the room we had was on the main street on the second floor, which meant that we needed to have our windows open. Unfortunately, the outdoor part of the hotel cafe was directly under our room and it was noisy. We found out that the front desk has fans on request, which made the evening nicer as we were able to get some air around the room without all the noise from the road and people.
We went to the old part of Munich for dinner and the tram right out front of the hotel was perfect! It took us to exactly where we wanted to be without having to change trams. And you can buy your tram tickets from the hotel front desk!
Breakfast was expensive in the hotel cafe so we opted to go just down the street to a bakery and grocer instead.
We definitely did not appreciate being woken up at 7:55 a.m. by the staff asking if we were up and ready to have the room cleaned! Since we were checking out that day (and check out is noon), this seemed a bit over the top.
While the location was nice, next time I'm in Munich, I'll probably stay somewhere else.

Clean, and great value
I must say this hotel was great for the Value......Located near Olympic park off the tram # 20, and 21.....The room itself are small but clean, bathrooms are small, but yet very clean......I must say I was very happy with this choice, the only thing was for us American's is that this hotel does not have A/C......thankfully Munich isn't as hot this time of year, so we slept with the windows open, but I couldn't be able to stay here in the middle of the summer. The rate include a great breakfast buffet. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and spoke great english (just like the rest of Europe). Would highly recommend this hotel........if it wasn't for the A/C I would give it a perfect 10, but because of no A/C it get a 8 out of 10.
