Very Good Hotel

We have stayed here for 2 nights ,after our holiday in Tenerife.
It is located in a funny Turkish/Arab street but it is very ,very safe there. Even when walking this street after midnight.
It has good location very close to Central Rail Station- some5-10 minutes by walking (depending how much luggage you have).
Very close to Old city (some 10-15 minutes walk to Marienplatz).
The hotel staff are very friendly and polite and speak excellent English.
since we've had too much luggage we have left one large bag here and they have kept it for half an hour.

The breakfast is a Buffet offering various types of food: ham,cheese,salamy...

Unique Quality: They serve free coffee all the day.....

Best Western Atrium Hotel

Nice 4-star hotel. About 10-12 minute walk to city center. in May 2002 rate was $105 per double room.
Area is not too nice - Turkish community (dirty, smelly). But once you walk through those 2-3 blocks towards city center - its great!

Transportation

by roseofsharon

My daughter and I will be doing a Munich, Salzburg, Vienna trip. We have rail pass between cities, however, I am having difficulty finding out about transportation from Munich airport and Atrium Hotel (our arrival). Also Vienna Hotel Harmoniegasse 5-7 to Vienna Airport(our departure).
We are also planning a day trip to my mothers hometown Matshiedl from Salzburg. Any ideas?
Thanks
Sharon

MVV timetable

1. "M"
2. [stop]
3. "MUC"
To:
1. "M"
2. [street/house no.]
3. "Landwehrstr. 59"

Single ticket is EUR 8,80. A mini group day ticket is EUR 16,00. This ticket is valid for 2-5 persons.
(If you just need to get around in Munich at one of the next days, a mini group day ticket for Munich (not including the airport) is EUR 8,00.)

There is a Matschiedl which is part of St. Stefan im Gailtal

Download the 'Urban Rail Network' map (Schnellbahnnetz) from http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/home/fahrgastinformation/mvv-netz/networkAemaps/index.html You can get the S8 train from Munich airport all the way into the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof), and the Best Western Atrium Hotel is about three blocks away at Landwehr Strasse 59.
