Camping in the south of Munich

Camingplatz Thalkirchen is a really big camping in the south of Munich, along the river Isar.

Do NOT expect a cosy campsite, as this is rather a camping-town, an extreme mixture of tents, motorhomes, cars etc.

Unique Quality: Some of you might know, That I make many of my travels with my motorhome, a small VW-bus.
Mostly I will not go to a campingsite, but stay in the streets of the towns I travel to.

Such a type of camping is a horror for me, but I may imagine, that for families and people with a tent, this is a good place to go.

City camping

This camping ground was very crowded when we arrived in August. Our first inpression was that it was a very good place. The facilities were good but the ground was rather hard and it wasn´t very easy to put up the tent.
We saw later, after trying out a few camping grounds in Germany that this was the least attractive site. It was still good though, the standard in Germany is high.

Unique Quality: This place is really close to the city center. It is just a few minutes with the subway or a bus.
