Parkhotel im Lehel

Single rooms start at 48 Euro. Double for about 89 Euro. Add 11 Euro for the breakfast buffet.

Unique Quality: Rooms have private bath and TV. It's just a block or 2 from a subway stop that goes directly to the Oktoberfest grounds.

Munich For Oktoberfest

If I want to book a room for oktoberfest how
far in advance should I make reservations?

I met people who had made the year before, never too late if you want to go there for some days.

If you're going this year, you should have made them by now. If you mean next year, at least 6-8 months in advance is not unreasonable. They will start taking reservations the day after this year's is over. Alternatively, if you are adventurous and flexible, you could try for a last minute room. There is no guarantee however that if there is a room to be found within 60 days that it will be either nice, safe, close or affordable.

I had luck making my reservations in June last year and found a lovely business hotel, just outside the city centre, but close to the subway. It was simple and not fancy, but clean and safe. It took 20 minutes by subway to get into downtown, which was fine. But the cost was only about $100 USD per night. Excellent value for the opening weekend of Oktoberfest.

Try www.hotelclub.net They seemed to have an excellent variety of hotels and prices and they did a great job with my reservations throughout Europe.

Good luck! LL

About 5 years ago, I was able to book only a few weeks in advance at the Golden Leaf Parkhotel im Lehel. It's in a quiet part of town and it's only a couple of blocks away from the subway, so it's absolutely convenient to Oktoberfest as well as any place else in town. venere.com is still showing a few hotels with rooms available for the last few days of Sept, so you could conceivably make it this year, but it's kind of pricey.

When are you going? I have an apartment booked for the 28th through 3rd. The place holds up to 6 people and we are olly 3 right now at the most.

Would you be interested in sharing the place?
