Good business hotel, not for tourists

This hotel is only good for business people; it doesn't have good public transportation access during the weekend. During the weekday, only one bus line 54 services the area.

If you must stay at a Hilton, you should look at my tip on Hilton - Munich City.

It's a great Hilton hotel otherwise. The standard Hilton services, facilities and amenities can be found here.

All rooms have a television with a couple english speaking news stations, desk, personal safe, and a mini bar. The bathroom has a tub and hairdryer, along with a 110 + 220 switchable plug.

Access to high speed internet via WiFi is available for additional € 29/day.

Unique Quality: Next to a nice big park. If you like taking long walks seeing lots of green, this would be a good place to stay.

A fine hotel

This hotel was nice and had plenty of accommodations. Getting there the first time was a little tricky, but after doing it once all is well.

To get there: take the S1 train from the airport to the main station (called Hauptbahnhof). From there go upstairs and outside and then take Tram 17 toward Effnerplatz. Get off on the TivolistraBe stop. From there you'll only have to walk about 5 mins or about two blocks to get to the front door of the hotel. It's nice because the trams are cheap and run about every 10 minutes, so getting to and from the city is super easy and convenient.

We used hotel miles when we stayed there so I'm unsure how the prices compare to other hotels in the area.

Fair business accomodation

I stayed many times to Hilton Am Tucherpark hotel for business reasons, the accomodation is quite good for a business trip but it's not too close to the city centre (you will need a 40 minutes walk or to take a public transportation line to get to Marienplatz). Anyway it's close to English Garden which in summer is a good place to walk, run or cycle (with a biergarten inside too).
Standard accomodation for Hilton quality, sometimes it had some small failure in the furniture of the room (wallpaper detached), the breakfast was quite good while I never ate inside the hotel.
Clean and quiet rooms and fully equipped with hair dryer, TV set (some international channels), and all you can need for a couple of days. It is cheaper than the equivalent accomodations in the city centre (about 30% less) and with a 10 Euro daily ticket you can use public transportation all day long.
There are onlya few restaurant at a walking distance in the surroundings.

Unique Quality: Quiet accomodation, big great park just out of the door

Standard Hilton fare

Actually this hotel is the "Hilton Munich Park" on the Hilton website. A middle-of-the-road Hilton, really. Perfectly serviceable, with all the features you might expect. Rooms have TV with cable (only 2 English language channels though - CNN and BBC World), minibar, phone, dial-up internet, the usual. On one side you have a view out over the English Gardens. On the other side you get a view of some office blocks. Located a 5-10 minute taxi ride from the city center (too far to walk). There's a buffet restaurant, an a-la-carte restaurant, a bar and a Chinese restaurant in the basement. The food, actually, is the main disappointment, especially for anyone staying more than a few days. It's way too Germanic and the room service menu is very poor - particularly after 11pm when there are only 4 options available.

Unique Quality: I've stayed in worse Hiltons, but I've also stayed in much better ones.

Must See in Munich

by AbuDhabi

Hello

I am planning to visit Munich in August for tow days then go to Frankfurt. What are the “must see” attractions in the city?

The travel agent suggested Hilton Munich Park Hotel, near the Englischer Garten, what you think? Is it in a good location? Any other similar rating hotel suggested?

What is the weather like in the second week of August?

Regards,

Ahmed

Go to the Marienplatz just before 11 am, and then watch the 500 year old Glockenspiel. Visit as many Baroque churches as you can; all are worth a visit. Wander the pedestrian walkways.

If you have any interest in art, the Pinathotek(sp?) is a must-see. Not many art museums in the world have either a DaVinci, a Boticelli, or a six-meter high Rubens; but this one has all of these.

Hi there,
It is good location where you are going to stay. Just start your city trip at Marienplatz and then walk up to Odeonplatz. You will very easily to reach to many interesting places around there. I would say that the Residenz palace is must to visit in the city. Enjoy your time in Munich,
