Subway under hotel, clean and friendly atmosphere

    by

Very Clean room, large clean bathroom. Wonderful views of city. Surrounded by restaurants, museums, & Nightlife. People at the front desk spoke many different languages and were very helpful with directions on S-bahn U-bahn. Pretty swimming pool in basement level. Spices restaurant on Main Lobby level which also has Bar. Internet available at 35.00 Euro a day, Laundry service, Mini fridge. Avoid it though, unless you want to pay 7.20 euro for a water. There's a snack shop open 24/7 next door with a variety of goodies. I would definitely stay again when its warmer. I would also recommend this hotel to all. Their were a variety of people staying there Familes with small children, Families with older children, Couples, people traveling alone etc...

Unique Quality: Great Views, Swimming pool, internet, Subway under hotel, within walking distance to museums, nightlife restaurants,

Directions: Near Isar river and Deutches Museum

    Great location

    by

This is a typical Holiday Inn, which could be anywhere in the world. But it's got good size rooms, bathrooms are not luxurious but are clean, well-finished and well equipped. Overall the hotel is clean and well-maintained and it runs efficiently. The staff were friendly, all we spoke with were fluent in English.

Room rates vary enormously so check around with travel agents and with on-line hotel sites.

Unique Quality: The most important thhing is the location. It's just a few minutes easy stroll into the historic centre of the city, Marienplatz, the town halls, museums and all the restaurants and shops in that area.

One word of warning, something I haven't noticed in other hotels - there's a Euro5 charge for room service. The room service menu has the usual dishes such as salads, burgers, sandwiches. Prices range from Euro8 to 10.50...plus the Euro5 extra charge.

  • 10 minutes walk from Marienplatz

    by

Perfect accomodation coming from the airport (it's just above a subway station) and very close to city centre, the rooms are clean and fully equipped for a business trip or for a pleasure stay (hair dryer, TV set, internet connection pay-for-use, etc.).
Average quality breakfast and restaurant, but there are many places around to eat (and anyway you can be in Marienplatz with a 10 minutes walk or with 2 subway stops).
Very close to Isar river (with cycling an running path along the shore) and to the museum district.

Unique Quality: Pillow menu to choose your pillow among 5 possibilities, close to the centre but with still affordable price

Directions: Just above Rosenheimer Plats subway station

Right in the centre of the City

    by

The room is spacious (40 sq.metres) and with comptemporary decor.Bath room has nice and functional tap fittings. The hot n cold water mixer switch is superb(Grohe brand) ensuring the required water temperature.
The rates on weekends are giveaway at Eur 64 for 14 days advance booking excluding breakfast.Alternatively you can book 3 days in advance ,include breakfast for 2 at Eur 85 nett.

Unique Quality: The location is very convenient as the S Bahn station is in the basement. It is only 2 stops to Marienplatz and 3 stops to the central train station. You can take a 30 minutes walk along River Isar to the centre of action,Marienpl
The views are great from the window as we can see some Gothic churches and other buildings of Marienplatz.
Breakfast spread is wide and generous as with all Hols. Inn chain...I have yet to be disappointed.

Directions: The S-Bahn-Station "Rosenheimer Platz" is within the same building complex .Follow the sign to Hotel in the complex basement.

    This Hotel is Centrally Located

    by

This is a great four star hotel located near all the fun sites of Munich (i.e. Marienplatz, Hofbrauhaus, etc.)

The hotel has an indoor pool, lounge, pets are allowed and of course, there's a restaurant.

The rooms have a/c, alarm clocks, TVs...the usual four star amenities.

You will be very pleased with their professional approach and the atmosphere of this hotel and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable.

Unique Quality: Excellent continental buffet breakfast with eggs and bacon. :^)

    Cheap beer and spirits

    by

I don't remember much about this hotel. Well, they all blur into one eventually. The rooms were a little small. But they did have room service. I guess it's reasonably close to the center of town. But from my perspective the best thing was that it's located very close to an underground shopping arcade which houses a large supermarket that's open until about 8pm. In other words, you can buy cheap beer and spirits (and chocolate) to your heart's content, at the same price or even less than the airport stores.

Convenient

by TripAdvisor Member sigsvm

We were in Munich for 6 days and had a lovely time. The Hotel is well connected from the airport as the Metro station is beneath the hotel. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast in the "Spices" restaurant has a great spread. The rooms are not big but perfect for a good nights sleep.Good housekeeping ensured the rooms and bathrooms were clean by the time we gat back. The Central station and the heart of Munich is only 4 stations away (about 12 minutes) and is convenient for all excursions one intends to do. The information and ticketing desk at the Central station is very helpful and one can get great deals and advise if you intend to travel by train and on your own.The Subway restaurant below the hotel is open till late and gives you an option on fresh healthy food in addition to the numerous bakeries in the area.

Good Location Even If No Car!

We arrived to Munich at the central train station. Asked around and found out how easy it was to go to this Holiday Inn!!

Basically we just tooked a U-bahn (underground) from the central train station to Rosenheimer Platz and there, the station has walking direction (in the underground) for you to walk to the hotel.

The hotel is within walking distance to the nearby attractions. Good service, modern and clean room. We loved it there!

close to shopping

by TripAdvisor Member Rosewards

This hotel is 3 star. It's convenient to shopping and restaurants. AC is a relief on a hot, summer day. Rooms are small, but well equipped: has an ironing board and mini bar. Breakfast buffet is good with hot and cold foods. Dinner is good with some regional dishes.

Easy location & great hotel

by TripAdvisor Member CdnTripster

My husband & I chose to stay at this hotel after reading all the hotel reviews for central Munich. We were so happy that we did because it was outstanding. First of all, it is located just above a small shopping concourse with direct access to Munich's fabulous, easy-to-use public transport system. That meant when we arrived at the airport we went to the S-Bahn ticket booth & bought a week-long pass for two (plus an extra ticket each because the airport is outside the zones). The pass allowed us unlimited use of S-Bahn trains, U-Bahn subways, trams & buses without having to validate tickets so we could come & go as we pleased right to the doorstep of the hotel. It was only 2 stops from Marienplatz where the Glockenspiel is located.
The shopping concourse has bakeries, fast food, liquor and grocery/toiletries stores, clothing, cash machines and an internet cafe. The hotel had a very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were done to the highest standard with individually-controlled heat/air conditioning. Also some good energy-saving devices like the a/c turns off when you open the windows and also you must put your room entry card into a wall slot when in the room to have the lights come on and thus no lights get left on when you go out & take your card.
The beds were very comfortable and there was a choice available of different pillows(soft, feather to firm synthetic). Also, they happily provided a sheet as well as the usual duvet only that is common in Germany. We had a delicious room service meal one night which came promptly too. Finally, the breakfast buffet is worth every penny you pay. It had absolutely everything you'd ever want and more. Fresh fruit juices, fresh-cut fruits, yogurt, cereals, rolls, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, cold cuts, smoked salmon & other fish, cheeses, and all the tea, coffee or hot chocolate you wanted. It was really a huge spread and would set you up for a day's sightseeing. Also, there were plenty of healthy choices for the really conscientious travellers.
We really enjoyed our stay here & would definitely return there again.
