Alfa Hotel

I found the Alfa Hotel to be a great base for exploring Munich. I spent 3 nights there in 2007. The staff on the reception desk were helpful and the reception was open 24 hours. The proximity of the hotel to Munich train station is ideal for day trips to nearby places with rail and trams available within 3 minutes walk.
The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. I found it very quiet and private. I think this hotel would suit single travellers and couples.

Close to city centre

Stayed at Hotel Alfa Twice in 2001. It is situated on a quiet side street. Easy to get to, as the airport bus stops a stop distance away at main train station. The main ring road is about 1 mile away if you are driving. There is a small hotel car park that cost about 5GBP a day to use. The main shopping centre is about 15 minutes walk. The rooms are various sizes and some more noisier than others. The reception staff are friendly but the staff serving breakfast can be frosty if you sit in the no smoking room and they want to close it early. Breakfast is included in the price of about 50GBP a night for a double room.
