One of the best & most expensive

Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is certainly one of the best and also most expensive hotels in Munich.

This type of hotel is not my kind of tea, but I may imagine there are even a few people on VT looking for that kind of hotel !

For more infos and pics - just click on my link below !!

Unique Quality: In Maximilianstrasse you will find the most exclusive and most expensive shops of Munich, as e.g. the famous tailor Rudolf Moshammer (& his dog Daisy)... :-)

Just a few steps to HofbrÀuhaus, to the Opera and the Residenz.

Top Dolllar - Top experience

Had a two night stay at the Vier Jahreseiten earlier this year and this place is as good as it gets. Its classy, friendly and traditional. It might be a tad over formal if you're not into old world service (bow ties and starch are the order of the day for the staff). Had a fantastic meal (scallops - yum) that would have graced any top restaurant. Room was classy and tasteful furnished with qualtiy and style- it was a little small but then I had booked a single room.

Overall service was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed. I wouldn't stay here if I was intending rolling back from the nearby Hofbrauaus with a full tank, but if I was taking the wife for a weekend or hosting a visiting colleague it would top the list.

Top location for the city and the shops of Maximillian Strasse

the munich four seasons hotel

the vier jahreszeiten kempinski (four seasons) hotel is one of the best hotels in munich. located with in walking distance of most of the attractions of central munich it has an excellent location. the vier jahreszeiten kempinski offers all the amenities of a good business class hotel. for those interested in 20th century history the vier jahreszeiten was a meeting place for the founders of the national socialist workers party of germany in the 1920's. rudolph von sebottendorft, karl haushofer, and dietrich eckhart used the hotel bar as a meeting place for the formation of the nazi party. because of it's excellent location and amenities i recommend it to visitors to munich.

Great Hotel in Berchtesgaden.

Wonderful historic hotel. Only stayed for two night's but very enjoyable. (off season).

Unique Quality: The resturant's food was incredible as was the beer. The staff was very friendly and they had a pool, sauna, hot tub. Very close to Obersalzberg (Hitler's bunker, and his guesthouse "Eaglesnest").

Looks can be deceiving

From the outside, and when you get into the foyer, the Kempinski looks pretty posh and has a price to match. A nice-looking reception area, decent bar with a decent food service. Unfortunately, once you step out of the lift, it all looks a little shabby. The corridors wind left and right, with strange slopes up and down. It looks like they gradually expanded the hotel into neighbouring buildings over time, all a little slapdash and in need of a lick of paint. The rooms are OK but small. The usual furnishings. Poor chocolate selection in the minibar.

Staying on the Rodeo Drive of Munich

The hotel is what you would expect from a 5 star property located in one of the best locations in Munich. The service is good, and the restaurants are all high-end. However, the room was just okay. Its clean and simple. A good business hotel, but I wouldn't recommend it as a luxurious romantic weekend place. The room size is adequate, but small (compared to US standards) and amenities are relatively basic. I did appreciate the two free bottles of water provided each day. I believe the Kempinski chain of hotel are highly thought of, but this hotel is definitely not one of its stars.

With that said, the hotel is conveniently located near Munich's center. Although the S-Bahn or U-Bahn is still about a 10 minute walk away, the hotel is located relatively central, so nothing ever seemed that far off. Taxis line up in front of this hotel at all hours. So if you are on a business account, this is very convenient. The shopping on this street is definitely for the rich and famous with all the high end merchants located on this street. However, I do believe the prices (with the tax refund) is cheaper than the States even with the bad exchange rate (for Americans).

Also convenient are the Deutsche Bank ATMs located across the street from the hotel.

Unique Quality: Location is probably the number one outstanding quality of this hotel. Its located on the fanciest street in Munich located between Chanel, Louis Vouitton, Gucci, Ferragamo, etc. The streets are immaculate ... I think I saw street cleaning here every night. 5 mins to the Hofbrauhaus, Opera House, and English Garden.

A Special Treat

by TripAdvisor Member oz2europe

I had booked a package from the hotel's website, to celebrate my husband's birthday and to cap off a lovely first trip around Germany. It included breakfast, dinner in the Vue restaurant, and a deluxe room.

On check-in, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite, before I had even mentioned that it was a special occasion. A late check out was granted on my request, as our flight home was leaving quite late. We found the staff to be very polite and accommodating, from the Porter and the Reception desk, to the maids and the staff in the Wellness Centre.

The pool area has a fitness room adjacent, which we both used. As well as multiples of the usual machines there were free weights and a multi-purpose station.

We ate a delicious meal, with prompt and courteous attention from our waitress. On the return to our suite, we discovered a bottle of sparkling wine and a birthday cake had been left for us, with a card from the staff.

The hotel was central, the lobby gorgeous, and our stay was perfect. I have stayed in a number of 5 star hotels in my country, but this topped them all.
