Directely INside of Hauptbahnhof
Hotel Intercity is a hotel directely inside the main train station of Munich / Hauptbahnhof.
When coming from your train simply enter the mainhall, go towards the lugguage-lockers and from there it is just a few meters to the entrance of the hotel.
Unique Quality: The hotel has a perfect location for everyone travelling by train. all windows are isolated against noise, and when you check the prices of the rooms, please considder, that prices are per ROOM not per person (it is still quite expensive for my taste !)

A fine hotel with friendly staff
A few steps from the Hauptbahnhof is the location for this impressive hotel. Perfectly situated, it allows you to take in all the sights in München without a taxi ride or long walk back to your central accommodation after a full day of sightseeing. My room was surprisingly large, complete with all the necessary amenities. Upon entering Intercity's warm lobby, pictured here, you know your stay will be a pleasurable one.
Also enjoy The Orange room, a very cozy lounge for that after sightseeing necessity.
Unique Quality: The most friendly Müncheners I encountered were right behind the front desk of this highly recommended hotel.
Owned by the Mayer family, my stay here was truly a pleasurable, memorable visit.

At the Munich main train station.
The service of the staff was perfect, the room tip top, the bar good, the resturant good, breakfast staff very attentive, reception helpful.Rooms are soundproofed. There is free Wi-Fi. The hotel is 4 star and issues a free ticket to use on local trams, buses, U bahn and S bahn.It is a 15 minutes walk to Marienplatz
Unique Quality: Mini bar, TV, Trouserpress.

Perfect location
We had booked a double in the Intercity Hotel. As all Intercity Hotels it is right next to the train station, extremely convenient. It's also just a short walk to the city centre and the pedestrian area.
Our double was adequate, no luxury but nothing missing. Breakfast offered a good variety.
The best feature of the Intercity hotels is the free ticket for public transport during your stay.
No trying to find out which kind of ticket is the best or do we have to buy another ticket for this bus or tram. When checking in we each got a card with the dates of our stay on it, valid for all buses, trams and underground trains within Munich. A very good deal!

Convenient to main train station, Hbf
Oct 2012, 4 of us stayed there in late October 2012 and we were disappointed as compared to previous stays. Maybe it is under new ownership.
Previous comment; This is a good hotel clean, quiet, yes QUIET, hotel directly at the main station / Hbf. While it can be a bit costly (booking in advance will save some) everything about it is good. Service is great and the will, when asked, take your luggage directly to your train. After an excellent breakfast, you don't need to allow more than 10 minutes from the check out desk to your train, presuming you have reservations/ticket. I have stayed and been definitely satisfied at the other InterCityHotels but, don't confuse this hotel with the chain of InterCityHotels GmbH, located at other main stations. The Munich Intercity not part of that group and is a cut above.
