Amazing Breakfast!

Close to the old city center and the Kiserburg castel. It's quite convenient to walk around the town.
We visited Nurnberg by train. And we took a taxi to the hotel, it costed about 8 euro and took about 5-10 min from the station if I remember it correctly. When we visited there, it was the christmas season and snowing. Taking taxi is the best choice in that case.
Hotel stuff are very nice. Though the room which we used is quite small, but you won't stay at the hotel a whole day. So it didin't matter for us at all!

Unique Quality: The selection of the breakfast buffet is amazing. A bunch of selection, german sausages, hum, breads, yoghurt, fruits, serials, cheese, sweets,,,, and more!

A hotel hit

This turned out to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in. No, not Sheraton by any means, but I prefer personal hotels. I got a cheaper rate booking through the city tourist database than on their own site, which made us pick it as it was quite good value for money. The beds were very comfortable (and quiet - read my München hotel tip!) which is important when you walk all day, and our daughter got the sofa bed included in the price. The minibar was so reaonably priced we actually used it. The breakfast buffet was very nice with that great German yoghurt I love, and things for all palates. In summer, you can sit on the terrace. They also serve light bar meals in the evening.
The place seemed popular with actors and musicians, as they were on photos all over the reception area, along with the owners. One photo even shows the Georgian Finance Minister. The hotel also has a car and they will drive you to the fair, station and airport if booked in advance.

The only thing I could say that was negative was that our bathroom although nice and clean was very small (not something we cared too much about) and that the TV channels were mostly German (which I speak but if you don't and really need a telly, you're stuck with CNN). Finally, if you have trouble walking, make sure you book a room along the staircase with the lift and not on the other side without one...guess how I know that :)

Unique Quality: The thing that made us book this, apart from its location near the historic centre, was the pool. This turned out to be a five metre long and 1 metre 40 deep thing in the cellar, which was perfectly adequate for the six-year-old for conquering her feer of depths with us. Moreover, when we were there in November, the place was nearly empty so we had the pool to ourselves every evening. Very cosy. You can borrow bathrobes and change in your own room.

If you are a cycling tourist, the hotel has a room for storing bikes and a repair kit, and are recommended by several European cyclists associations.
