Fountains and sculptures
by Sjalen
Nürnberg is one of those cities which are packed with street art in the form of fountains and sculptures. The Hare in this picture is in Tiergärtner Tor area, just outside Dürer's house and as Alice sat next to it, the whole thing reminded me of Alice in wonderland, the way the hare looked.
There is also a geese fountain at the Old City Hall, a very special fountain outside the St Lorenz Church, and yet another near Weisser Turm, to name but a few of the more famous ones. You can see a picture of the world famous Beautiful Fountain (Schöner Brunnen) in Hauptmarkt in my Christkindl tip under "Local Tips".
The name of the game: football

Nürnberg FC is one of the Bundesliga football (soccer) clubs, and why not go and see them. They play in the Luitpoldhain area, and as you can see in this photo, the old Zeppelin Field is just outside their stadium.
Metro and tram
by Sjalen
Getting around Nürnberg is easy, although you may find yourself having to walk throgh the Old Town as the bit closest to the Burg has no underground, so you have to walk to the Lorenzkirche for a stop, and by then you are almost by the Central station anyway, if that's where you're heading. Chances are that you are indeed, as that is the public transport hub for the metro and several trams. It is where you get to Fürth or Luitpoldhain from easily for instance. The metro system is the smallest underground in Europe, but it takes you where you want to go usually.
The Central Station itself is huge, and one of the best I've seen as far as services go. Shops are plenty and open late for instance. There is an escalator down to the metro station with more shops and a general local transport office where you can buy daycards for travel around the Nürnberg region. There is even a pass for 2 adults for all travel in a day which is good value for money.
Mediterranean Aromatic Cuisine
by AnnaLupilla about Vivere
Just came back from a magnificent evening at the Vivere. We had a menu of 5 dishes, which were chosen absolutely excellent. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere in the former EssenWein simply marvelous. We had a 5-dish-menu of some fish, very little meat, a chocolate ravioli, sour-cream-sorbet and orange creations.

There are plenty of things to see in the city of Nurnburg, or Nuremburg. You might want to start out by walking along the expansive city walls which surround most of the old city center. There are four large towers at the outermost areas of the walls, plus there is a castle in there somewhere. The Germany Museum is quite large if you're into museums. Also check out the Sebalduskirche and the Hauptmarkt. While in the Hauptmarkt check out the Frauenkirche with its wooden clock, and the Schöner Brunnen replica church tower.
