hey there,
your posting is quite old and has no answers still. when you posted there still was chateau disc at lorenzer platz. due to you not having bought discs there, they closed their doors forever. actually ... they closed due to the fact that i was the only one to buy discs there - unfortunately. now there is drogeriemarkt müller opposite to the lorenzkirche left. they got a quite good selection of cds, though it is nothing but the regular stuff.

The castle('Kaiserburg'). It still looks proudly over the city which, meanwhile, has grown to a size of roughly half a million people. Of course, it is the best-known sight in Nuremberg. The rooms are open for visitors, and there´s a museum up there, as well. AND, as a treat, the former stables are Nurembergs youth hostel!
The bronze rabbit is a strange sclupture by Joergen Goertz. For me it is a pretty ugly rabbit with human legs. The rabit was made in honor of Albrecht Durer cause he was a fan of painting rabbits. It is situated on Tiergartnerplatz in fron of Albrecht Durer's house.
Nuernberger Lebkuchen / gingerbread is a "must-taste" when coming to Nuernberg and you will get it all year long at many different places. I had mine in Bäckerei & Konditorei Pabst togeather with some coffee. This bakery is close to Neutor and not far from Duererhaus. Normally you will find gingerbread mainly in the wintertime in Germany, but in Nuernberg you will get it anytime of the year. Gingerbread is produced in many different sorts, I always prefer the white ones, with a sugar-glacing and the ones coated in chocolate.
This Statue is near the Kristkindlmarkt in Nuernberg. This may appear demonic. It is not. It is called Ehekarussell (Marriage Merry-Go-Round Fountain) created in 1984 by the sculptor Prof. Jürgen Weber as a visual manifestation of Hans Sachs' poem "Bittersweet marital life". Hans Sachs is a Nurnberg native. Hmmm, judging from the gruesomness of this sculpture, someone has negative view of marriage!

Consecrated in 1273, this church is an excellent example of the transition from Romanesque to German Gothic styles. Originally built as a Romanesque basilica with two choirs, it was remodelled during the 14th century.
The church was badly damaged during WWII and has been completely restored. It is considered to be Nürnberg's oldest and finest church.
One of the great things about the Chrismas season is all the concerts. If you're low on budget, you can try to catch a choir practice, like we did at this church.

A: "One solution is to use only regional trains. Slower, but cheaper. To find out how much this will cost, and how long this will take check "use only local transport" on..."
