Two blocks from the Opera House

I don't usually write hotel tips, because all I ever do at a hotel is sleep and have breakfast, and I always book through the internet, taking the cheapest hotel I can find that is close to the station and/or the opera house. (Also I don't like the idea of having my tips ripped out of context and displayed on www.onetime.com.)

But I'll make an exception this time because I got a very good deal on this one through the website www.hrs.de. EUR 39,90 for a single room with breakfast, and the hotel is only two blocks from the opera house and six blocks from the station.

The other website I always check is www.hotel.de. Between them and hrs I can usually find some perfectly good hotel that I can afford. And on my business trips I don't have to pay for the hotel anyway, so I just go wherever they send me.

Unique Quality: The monument in the foreground says that across the street was the site of the Synagogue "Adas Jisroel", which was built in 1903 and destroyed by the Nazis during their pogrom night of November 9-10, 1938.
