Take in Nurnberg on a Saturday. This is when the Marktplatz (Market Square) is full of vendors selling everything from fresh fruits and veggies to carpet cleaner. This is also home of the world-famous Nurnberg Christkindlmarkt, or Christmas Market. We were walking around one Saturday and passed by the Frauenkirche, the big Catholic Church on the Square, when the doors opened and a wedding procession filed out. I think we ended up in some of their pictures!
Ehekarussell
by leics
'The marriage merry-go-round'.
It's a fountain, sculpted by Jurgen Weber and in place since 1984. It shows, as its name suggests, the 'merry-go-round' of marriage and is based on a work by local Medieval poet Hans Sachs (1494 - 1576).
It's beautifully sculpted....and much bigger than the photos might suggest, each figure being much more than life-size.....but I liked it because it is simply such fun.
The local children thought so too: it was warm when I visited, and there were always paddlers and climbers and splashers whenever I walked past the Ehekarussell.
I'm guessing at the meaning of each scene, because I could not understand the German of the poem.
It's nice place to sit and people-watch, but unless you looked for it specially you probably wouldn't come across it.
So go along Breite Gasse almost to its end (from Konigstrasse) and you'll find it.

I got to Nuremberg twice : one by airplane from Frankfurt airport..The other by train from leibzig.
Tranportation is a solved problem here….
Public transportation(such as underground metro ,buses and trains ) is available at any time . I advice you to buy a mobicard to use all kinds of public transportation freely..
Nevertheless, I used a bike…It was a nice experiment.

NURNBERG CATHREDRAL
by stevemt
I was lucky enough to visit this city in 1994 and the Cathedral had only been reopened 1 week after reconstruction from being demolished by the 2ndWW bombing.
The cathedral had an exhibition on about the reconstruction that included hundreds of photo's that was facinating.
This cathredral is certainly worth a visit. It seems to have been reconstructed to the origional plans etc as per the reconstruction in Dresden.
