A beautiful building

I didn't stay at this hotel, but I thought I'd write a few lines about it, as it is a beautiful building (observe the statue of the soldier) and it is located in Königstor, the main pedestrian street in the centre of Nürnberg.

Perfect for sightseeing inside the Historic city

Lucky to find this hotel inside the "Wall" and near the Main train station.

Nürnberg's best location

The Ibis Koenigstor is in a very good location, in downtown Nürnberg, in the old city center. The only problems here are the following: no view from the room (despite beeing in the historical city center), lack of parking (the next public parking is at least 5 min. walk) and lack of air conditioning (very important during hot summer days in such a city, as you've probably been suffering in the sun all day and would like to feel god back at your hotel).

Besides those things, the staff was nice and the price right.

Unique Quality: Best location in historical downtown.

Best location for seeing inside the old city

My 21 yr. old grandson and I couldn't believe our luck in finding this hotel. The location was perfect for walking throughout the old city.
I lived outside of Nurnberg for two years back in the 1960's and never had a chance to sightsee. Only one night did I see the Christkindlsmart. Now 2 million tourists and locals visit in December every year. Wow, did I miss a lot.

Unique Quality: Great view of the St. Lorenz Church and all the visitors walking down the cobblestones toward the Schoen Brunner
and great artist Albreht Durer (1471-1528) museum of the (Praying Hands, etc.).

Nurenberg and Furth

by SmileyLeSa

In 1219, Nurenberg became a city. Nurenberg was a city confined inside a wall, which still exists today. But obviously the inhabitants of the city are no longer confined inside the walls.

This past summer I had the opportunity to exlore this region of Germany. It was nice to see the area in which a friend of mine had roots.

Getting from Dortmund to Nurenberg

by MaryMas

Hello
I am asking this on behalf of my friend, who is going to the world cup this year. She needs to get from Dortmund to Nuremberg on the 14 June, returning the 16 June. I am helping her look, but it seems very expensive... Any ideas?

Thank you

If she has a match ticket for Nuremberg she can buy a special return ticket, the Weltmeister-Ticket:
